Ospina leaves Columbia camp for family reasons

Colombian goalkeeper David Ospina has left the country's 219-seat camp in Cuba to return to the country because of his father's illness.

The father of Italian goalkeeper Napoli has been battling cancer in recent months, according to the Colombian version of AS, and Ospina will not play Paraguay's final in the group stage.

Ospina's father-in-law made him fail to complete the season with his Napoli teammates, who spent the past season with Maarra after receiving permission to travel to Medellin.

Ospina took part in Argentina and Qatar matches as a key and maintained a clean sheet in both games to ensure Los Capiteros qualify for the quarter-finals as a leader to arrange the second group with 6 points.

Alvaro Montero and Camilo Vargas have the chance to take part in the match against Paraguay, according to coach Carlos Queiroz.

The 30-year-old Ospina has played 24 times in the last 24 games in the Bernabeu, conceding 25 goals and keeping them clean in eight games.
