Ecuador - Chile Perview - COPA America

This Friday, June 21, starting at 18:00, the Ecuadorian team and its counterpart from Chile meet at the Fonte Nova Arena in Salvador, on the second day of Group C of the Copa América Brasil-2019.

The Ecuadorians will look to stay alive in the tournament, while the Chileans ensure their place in the quarterfinals.

Chile will be looking to make it two wins from two as they continue the defence of their Copa America crown.

After making an impressive start to this year’s tournament with an impressive 4-0 demolition of Japan, Chile will be keen to keep the momentum going this evening.

That result put them top of Group C alongside Uruguay, but with the latter drawing yesterday evening, Chile have an opportunity to open up a lead at the top of the group with a victory here.

Ecuador, meanwhile, will be looking to bounce back after being on the wrong end of a 4-0 defeat in their opening game.

That loss at the hands of Uruguay not only handed them the worst start imaginable to the Copa America but left them rooted to the bottom of the group too.

It sets this game up as one to watch, with both sides keen to make an impression after contrasting opening results.

Team News:

Ecuador will be without Jose Quintero, who was sent off in their opening game and will be serving a ban.

While there are no injury concerns for manager Hernán Darío Gómez, it would be surprising if he doesn’t make changes following that opening defeat.

Chile, on the other hand, are unlikely to make any changes to their starting line up. Their impressive victory has almost guaranteed that.
